Crescent
Crescent
The specific colour palette used for Nymphenburg porcelain is one of its unmistakeable characteristics: clear and bright, yet subtle colours. A great deal of experience is required to breathe life into figures such as this Putto with Crescent.
Stroke by stroke, the hair and lips are defined, the pattern is painted on the loincloth. The subtle skin colour is dabbed on like fine talcum powder. And the icing on the cake: the bells of the childlike figurine’s instruments are plated in 24-carat gold.
