Bonacina

New York Residency

On the year that marks its 135th Anniversary, Bonacina is proud to announce its residency at E.R. Butler & Co., the esteemed hardware manufacturer based in New York.

On the occasion of NYCxDesign, the historic Italian rattan furniture maker, synonymous with artisanal excellence, unveils a new installation within the walls of the luxury showroom in the vibrant heart of SoHo. The installation opens on May 16th and will remain on display until September 15th, 2024.

This collaboration is born from the values the two companies share: their dedication to uncompromising quality, and their deep-seated passion for design, manufacturing, and craft. By joining forces, Bonacina and E.R. Butler & Co. offer an unparalleled experience to design enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike, introducing them to the two manufacturers’ distinct worlds.

The installation, located at 55 Prince Street, will showcase over fifty of the finest creations of Bonacina’s artisans, made meticulously by hand in Brianza, Italy, including pieces from their Decor, Contemporary, and Grandi Maestri (Great Masters) collections. Visitors will have the rare opportunity to experience a unique selection of exceptional pieces, from those designed by Mario Bonacina and Renzo Mongiardino, to the Serra realized by Gae Aulenti, and the more contemporary collection by Piero Lissoni.

Adding to the allure of the exhibition is the participation of Fort Street Studio, the New York rug company celebrated for its uniquely crafted hand-knotted carpets. Fort Street Studio’s finely curated products promise to captivate visitors and elevate the space.

“We are thrilled to make our New York debut, and to be hosted by E.R. Butler & Co. Through our collaboration, we showcase more than just exquisite craftsmanship and artistry; we celebrate shared values of innovation, elegance, and a commitment to timeless quality. Our exhibition embodies the harmonious blend of tradition and modernity, reflecting the essence of both companies; a dedication to excellence that transcends mere functionality, creating enduring pieces that resonate with the history of design.”
