This chandelier is the main representative of a large number of items in the same general shape which were very prominently used for coffee shops and restaurants of the 50s to 70s in Vienna. It was designed by Oswald Haerdtl for the Prückel coffee house where it still crowns the main room.
A cart-wheel-shaped ring holds the light bulbs, which is then covered in a layer of exquisitely cut crystal pieces. This simple recipe opens to a wide variety of different interpretations of this idea.
In its location in the Prückel this chandelier is the most prominent landmark of this versatile design.
