This chandelier was designed and first produced for Gustavo Díaz Ordaz, former President of Mexico, for his private residence, designed by the famous Architect Hugo Vasquez. The shape and colour scheme of the chandelier resembles a huge icicle.
It consists on horizontal bands of large preciously cut crystals. These surround a column of individual strands of crystal beads suspended from small booms.
The simple still playful design is largely dominated by the exquisite crystal. The little metal visible virtually disappears because of the polished nickel finish. What remains is a wonderful cloud of crystal, accented by the prominent crystal bars. It breathes a cool yet elegant air.
